FAQs

Answers to some commonly asked questions that we receive.

"Can I bring my own camera?"

Camera rental is included in all Graino courses. If you'd like to bring your own, please ensure it is 35mm format (preferably manually controlled) and known to be functional. We'd hate to see you finish with a blank roll, so please be sure it's in tip top condition. Our instructors will be happy to give your camera a quick inspection, but using your own camera will be at your own risk.

"Do you do colour courses?"

Grainos focus (excuse the pun) is to teach the fundamentals of exposure and composition. Black and white is perfect for this and makes the experience as a student more rewarding as the learning curve is less steep. Colour films tend to be less forgiving to mistakes in exposure, so we use good old black and white. After the course you'll have ample know-how to experiment with colour on your own.

"What if i'm running late?"

We ask attendees to arrive a minimum of 15 mins before the start time of the session. If you are late, the course may start without you and you may not have the best experience.
Refunds may not be issued for latecomers and no shows. Please be punctual.

"Can I reschedule my booking?"

Yes, up to 48 hours before the session. Please get in contact via info@graino.co.uk No guaranty of re-booking can be made if requested less than 48 hours before the session start time.

"I have accessibility requirements,  can I still attend?"

Grainos aim is to make film photography accessible to as many people as possible. We can tailor the course to suit most accessibility and mobility needs. Please get in contact before booking, as we may need to make prior arrangement to cater to your specific requirements. info@graino.co.uk

"How many people will be on the course with me?"

Our regular sessions will have a maximum of 4:1 attendee to instructor ratio, giving a high contact time for attendees.
Group bookings and one on one sessions are currently available via email only.  info@graino.co.uk
